Department of Documentation and Research of the Cultural Heritage
One of the main tasks of the Institute for Classical Studies is the project of the database Clavis monumentorum litterarum Regni Bohemiae (CML). The aim of the project is the investigation of the cultural heritage of the Czech lands up to 1800. The main part of the project is the digitalization of Knihopis.
The Department was founded in 1990. The first idea was to continue the work of dr. Josef Hejnic a dr. Jan Martínek on the Rukověť humanistického básnictví v Čechách a na Moravě. That main focus was on the latin literature of the 17th a 18the centuries. Dr. Jiří K. Kroupa has become the head of the project in 1993. The aim of the project was extended to cover the total of the Czech literary production from the beginning of the Czech state up to the 1800.
Primary task of the Department is however the Knihopis Digital.
